Columbia University
After undergrad, I moved to New York City to begin my career. Along the way, I spent a lot of time reflecting on what truly mattered to me — and I eventually chose to return to school to pursue a graduate degree in Psychology. I’m now a student at Columbia University, continuing to study what I love most: how people learn, grow, and thrive.

Graduated Magna Cum Laude
Wake Forest University
Graduated from Wake Forest as an Economic Major and double minor in Psychology and Communication. During my time in undergrad, I was an Academic Advisor for incoming students, as well as a tutor at a local school in the area.
2011-2015

I graduated in the top 5 of my class from a private high school with a 4.0 GPA and went on to attend my dream school, Wake Forest University.
Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Darby, and I’ve spent over a decade working as an academic tutor and advisor.
School did not come easily to me. I struggled with memorization, processing speed, and often felt like I had to work ten times harder than my peers just to keep up. But through trial, error, and persistence, I figured out how to turn those challenges into strengths. Eventually, I learned how to love learning — not because it was easy, but because I found joy in overcoming the things I once believed I couldn’t do.
Because I’ve been in the academic world for so long — both as a student and as an advisor — I understand how overwhelming school and the college application process can be. I didn’t always have someone in my corner, which is why I’m so passionate about being that person for others.
My goal is to help students build confidence in their abilities, reconnect with the joy of learning, and reach their academic goals with pride.
